Las Vegas, NV- May 2, 2013. Tad Davies led an Educational Session at Data Center World guiding managers with strategies and tactics to address getting their projects approved.
Davies discussed the three phases (P’s) of the approval process: Preparation | Presentation | Post. Davies, a 27-year veteran of the data center business, shared his own experiences along with results of guided discussions he conducted with executives which included a former CFO of a $10B firm, a VP of IT ($100M capital budget), a Director of Technical Services ($5M budget) and others.
“Most folks know what should be done,” stated Davies. “Often the challenge is working through their multi-tiered approval process and building a strong business case. Today, board approval is required for most projects of any size. Consequently, the effort to move things along is more exacting and arduous. The goal here was to teach and hopefully ease the burden a bit.”
